I'm Elvire, a 35-year-old French native who has been living in the UK for the past 13 years.

I've always loved to travel and learn languages. In 2020, I moved to Portugal and then to South America, where I learned Spanish and Portuguese. This experience taught me what really matters when learning a language, and how to make that process fun, accessible, and effective. After just six weeks in Brazil, I was able to hold conversations on most everyday topics with the people I met - and that's exactly the kind of result I aim to help my French students achieve.

Language learning and teaching is such an enriching experience: it lets both student and tutor learn from each other's culture and background. Learning a language means gaining a whole new means of communication ... and with it, access to new experiences.

My methods focus on building my students' confidence to speak French as much, and as early, as possible. I've had great results helping both beginner and advanced learners finally understand how the French language works, by making grammar rules accessible and easy to grasp.

I use a variety of pedagogical approaches covering all four key language skills, and I offer unlimited access to all past lessons.

Lessons are typically one or two hours long - I recommend a minimum of two hours per week per student, which can be split into two sessions if preferred.

I have 7 years of teaching experience, including 3 years teaching private students online (all ages and levels) and 4 years teaching in person at university level.

My credentials include a Master's degree in French as a Foreign Language, a TEFL (Teaching English as a Foreign Language) certificate, and a Fellowship in Higher Education Teaching.
