I am a tutor doing either 1-1 or group sessions online. I will be teaching GCSE students and any lower years. Unfortunately I do not have any official qualifications in Maths but I did do A level Maths. I think I would be perfect as I struggled with maths at a young age and was really demotivated to do it, then I had a tutor and years later I liked it and was motivated. I feel like with this experience I can relate to others more. During my lessons I will focus on topics that students struggle with the most to help them feel more comfortable with it. My lessons will be taught on Zoom. I will make each lesson as engaging as possible for the student as doing it in an online environment can be challenging. I will start off each lesson with some basic questions to help the student get started. Then I will go through the questions and show them different ways to go around them. Throughout each session I will interact with the student to make sure they are understanding what we are doing. I hope by the end of each session they feel more comfortable with the topic that was covered. As it is the time of exams coming up I am happy to go over some exam preparation if they want that as well. During my sessions I would prefer if their camera was on as makes it easier for me and better for them in an online environment.
