From the start of the learning process, I tailor my lessons to the needs of the student. Each learner is different, and needs a unique plan to optimise their potential and achievement. I adopt lesson structures, tasks and goals to suit their requirements. Within a given student’s framework, I use PowerPoints, written/typed tasks, reading tasks, visual learning, and homework to ensure student potential is reached to its highest point. My mode of teaching ensures the student is an active participant who constantly uses their critical faculties, rather than a passive listener. All skills will be directly developed within sessions, with work to show and develop from. I can relate sessions and work to the student’s current and upcoming assessment, exam and homework needs, or even personal statements for history course applications.

My guidance can be employed for any student, from a new GCSE student finding their feet in history, to an experienced A-level student, seeking to attain the best grade possible for future employment or educational applications. Every student has the ability to flourish and succeed in history, given the appropriate support and guidance. I can tutor on the skill of historical writing, i.e, how to argue, structure and analyse within a history assessment, exam or essay; as well as the content knowledge on a subject, such as the details of times, people, places and ideas within historical subjects.

My lessons can be further tailored to any students with additional learning needs, such as autism and ADHD. Further notice may be required, to ensure the most beneficial learning plan is set in place.

I am available for tuition in Cardiff, Barry and Penarth.
