In a 1 to 1 lesson, I would try to make it as relaxed as possible, with one of my priorities is making sure they are comfortable with me when they are learning concepts or exam techniques and try to make these lessons fun to learn and less boring.

In my first lesson, I would usually ask a person who I'm tutoring to get a piece of paper and write down what they know about the topic to get a good idea of what they know, for example: war time Economy of Nazi Germany, then I would ask them what topics would they struggle them most on or how they are in terms of exam technique to help ease some anxiety and make sure they are ok with making mistakes.

I like ( or hope ) to make my lessons fun and engaging, able to present history as a more interesting subject, rather than just " dates and places" by using YouTube videos explaining concepts / content for example: Hungarian uprising 1956 and Prague spring 1968 , explaining how you would use that content to answer questions and get the most marks possible in a GCSE or KS3 exam paper.

Hope this was helpful in describing future lessons and if you're interested please feel free to contact me.
