I am an experienced primary school teacher and English subject specialist, graduating with First Class Honours in Primary Education (English specialism) from the University of Reading over five years ago. Since then, I have taught across several schools and the breadth of the Key Stage 2 year groups, including extensive SATs preparation and subject leadership in reading, writing and music.
Parents and colleagues consistently praise my natural rapport with children and my clear, positive communication style. My lessons are engaging, interactive and carefully sequenced to promote strong understanding, long-term retention and importantly, confidence.
I teach the full National Curriculum, delivering both English and maths as well as foundation subjects up to and including Year 6 level. Sessions can focus on absolutely anything, including test technique; confidence building; and exam stamina. I pride myself that this is always with humour and encouragement to keep learning enjoyable. I particularly value those “light-bulb” moments when a concept clicks and a child’s pride shines through. This is what makes teaching a magical experience for me.
An inclusive practitioner, I have successfully worked with many pupils with SEND, including ADHD, Autism, PDA, Dyslexia and Dyscalculia. I adapt my teaching to meet each learner’s needs and find this to be particularly rewarding.
I am excited to begin this next chapter as a tutor and would love to help your child flourish on their academic journey. I hope that you will consider utilising my skills to support and nurture your child into becoming the best learner that they can possibly be.
