I have a strong academic background and personal experience in English, having successfully completed my 11+ and achieved A grades in many of my GCSE subjects. I am currently studying A-Level English Language, which has further developed my understanding of grammar, structure, and textual analysis. This combination of experience allows me to support students at a variety of levels, from younger learners preparing for early exams to those working towards their GCSEs.

My lessons are highly structured yet adaptable to each student’s needs. I begin by assessing the student’s current level and identifying areas of strength and improvement. I use a mix of interactive activities, explanations, and practical exercises to make learning engaging. For example, I break down complex grammar concepts into manageable steps, incorporate reading comprehension exercises, and encourage discussion to develop analytical skills. I also focus on exam technique, helping students understand how to structure answers, manage timing, and interpret questions effectively.

I am passionate about making English enjoyable and accessible, and I adapt my teaching style to suit each learner’s personality and pace. I incorporate real-world examples, texts, and exercises that reflect the topics students are studying, ensuring lessons are relevant and meaningful. My approach encourages curiosity, confidence, and independence, enabling students to develop a genuine understanding of English rather than simply memorising content.

Having completed my TEFL course, I also bring an understanding of effective teaching strategies for online learning, ensuring lessons are clear, interactive, and supportive, even in a virtual environment. Overall, my combination of academic experience, practical strategies, and passion for the subject allows me to create lessons that are effective, enjoyable, and tailored to each student’s goals.
