In my lessons, I use many of the strategies that helped me succeed during my own French studies. I focus on short, high-concentration grammar and speaking exercises that keep learners engaged. I also incorporate tools, such as Duolingo to refresh a foundational level of French and personalised Quizlet sets with advanced vocabulary, as well as exposure to everyday French through selected books, films and podcasts. My lessons are interactive and varied, helping students build confidence and make consistent progress.

In addition to these methods, I place a strong emphasis on developing practical communication skills. I encourage students to express themselves in French from the start of our lessons, even if that means starting with simple sentences. Over time, this builds fluency and reduces the anxiety that many learners feel when speaking a new language. I also tailor each lesson to my tutee's goals, whether they need support with exam preparation, with improving their grammar, or want to feel more confident with their spoken French. I also provide regular feedback and optional practice activities between lessons to help students stay motivated and track their own progress over time.

I create a supportive, patient environment where students feel comfortable making mistakes, knowing that they are an essential part of the language-learning process. By combining structured guidance with engaging, real-world materials, I aim not only to make French less intimidating but to turn learning a new language into something my students enjoy in order for them to succeed independently.
