More than 15 years experience - I have taught children from age 4/5 , all ages including adults . Privately at home , in schools for Music Services and in a Saturday music centre.
Since 2019, have also succesfully taught online , using Zoom and a second overhead camera that shows my keyboard clearly.
My background is traditional classical from Italian Conservatoires, but I use mostly Anglo- American child friendly literature .
I mix teaching classical , jazz and pop- especially at the beginning, so that students experiment until they find their preferred path.
I am able to prepare for grade exams - mainly use Trinity- but I do not consider it at all as a priority- as I find people progress and learn in a more complete and enthusiastic way when they learn freely for the first few years.
Since the start, I introduce teaching chords and scales - as this helps enormously in reading and remembering music, improvising and understanding basics of composizion.
