Elisabeth Haljas

I am Eli(sabeth), born and bread Estonian with a passion for languages. I've completed TEFL level 5 course and been teaching Estonian since Sept 2025, both online and in-person courses, on different online platforms and via my podcast website Estonian with Eli, and via Language Services Direct agency. I also run a beginner-friendly podcast Estonian with Eli as I noticed the lack of materials available for listening.
I use a varied range of materials in my lessons: videos, texts, audio, dialogues and images, to keep the lessons dynamic and interesting.
The lessons could be more traditional classroom-atmosphere and discuss grammar or do drills, or just a casual conversation to practice your Estonian, whatever you prefer. My goal is to make you a more confident speaker using varied materials for it. For beginners, I can suggest following Settle Estonia A1/A2 book, or E nagu Eesti, if you prefer, to go through various topics in an organised way, but we can also just focus on what you want to be able to say and how you might be exposed to the language.
For learners already conversational, I often have half the lesson as speaking practice, and second half discussing an article shared earlier, going through any vocabulary that is unclear, or any homework assignments.
For homework I use varied resources, depends on the need and preference - drilling conjugation/inflection, reading and answering questions based on the text, listening/watching videos and marking correct answers.
I am also happy to use any of my other languages to help you learn, so let me know if you want to have the lesson in a different language than English!
