I am a trained primary school teacher with 2 years of full-time teaching experience and 3 years of supply teaching across a variety of primary settings and year groups. Over the past year, I have also worked as a private tutor, supporting children and young people in both primary and secondary English, as well as primary maths.
Alongside my teaching experience, I hold a Master’s degree in English Literature, which has given me a strong academic background and a genuine passion for language, reading, and learning. I particularly enjoy helping students develop confidence in English, whether that is through improving reading fluency, strengthening writing skills, preparing for exams, or exploring literature in greater depth.
My teaching style is patient, supportive, and personalised to each learner. I believe that every child learns differently, so I adapt lessons to suit individual needs, abilities, and learning styles. I aim to create a calm and encouraging environment where students feel comfortable asking questions, making mistakes, and building confidence step by step.
I focus on making lessons engaging and accessible while maintaining high expectations and clear progress. Whether supporting younger children with phonics and foundational skills, preparing students for 11+ or SATs assessments, or guiding GCSE students through English Literature and Language, I strive to make learning both effective and enjoyable.
My goal as a tutor is not only to improve academic performance, but also to help students become more independent, resilient, and confident in their own abilities.
