My lessons are mostly designed to address the areas of difficulties that student have expressed or I identified through practice of exam papers and worksheet. So they are geared toward ensuring the student are well prepared for the exams they are about to sit, this is based on previous experience of preparing for exams as a student. I use slides to compensate the learning and begin with the assumption that the student has no prior knowledge of the topic to ensure no gap in understanding. At the end of each session with the student, I always try to summarise the content of the session and what need to be worked on going forward. This way we are both aware of what next will be covered in the next session and heighten both our interest for the next session. At the start, I always aim to get clarity on the topics the student is struggling on, then try to prioritise them based on the likelihood of coming up in the exam the student is preparing for and we work our way through the identified gaps in learning of the student. I have found building a friendly environment for learning very beneficial towards the learning of student, as such I often start off slowly to get to know what my student likes and don't like. It's no surprise that there have been numerous success story in my time as a private tutor and through this experience I have made many friends for life.
