In my lessons, I focus on the students goals and attitude towards the subject. With students who just want to pass the exam, we focus on nailing the content and ensuring they can apply it to exam questions. This includes lots of targeted content and questions. However, some students want to further their knowledge and enjoyment of the subject. With these students, I dive much deeper into the topic and personaluse the lesson structure for them.
My lessons are always guided by the needs of the individual, however most lessons consist of a warm up activity, which will usually be based off the previous lessons topic or a topic that the student is particularly struggling with. We will then focus on the main topic of the lesson, before using the last 20 minutes or so to work through some exam questions together.
As the student approaches their exams, the lessons become much more changeable. I often find that students either want to focus purley on exam practise or may want to refresh on certain topics.
I have 2 years experience working with a variety of students, however all my students increased their grades by at least 2 and found that they felt much more confident in their subject.
