Eimear Hegarty

I’m an enthusiastic, positive, and creative tutor with over 5 years of experience supporting primary school children in both English and maths. I love planning fun, immersive lessons that bring learning to life and keep children engaged. Every session is carefully tailored to suit each child’s needs and interests, helping them build confidence and enjoy the learning process.

My lessons are structured yet flexible, often starting with a quick warm-up, followed by focused teaching using games, real-life examples, and hands-on activities. I take time to get to know each child—what they enjoy, what motivates them, and how they learn best—so I can create lessons that are both effective and enjoyable.

I believe learning should be exciting, supportive, and empowering—and I bring that belief into every lesson I teach.

I have taught both KS1 and KS2 and I currently teach in Reception. I have a keen interest in Early Reading and phonics. I have used several phonics schemes including Monster phonics and currently the fantastic Read Write Inc scheme. I work full time so my availability is after school sessions and weekends!
