I use a basic format that I have compiled myself including beginner, medium, complex and proficient.

I like to understand my subject first and see how they are comfortable learning. If they are more methodical I use step by step formats and if they are more intuitive and quick/creative I let them lead the way and tell me what THEY would like to learn.

I have a step by step method that consists of writing, reading, comprehension and speaking. I usually begin with speaking and then move on to the rest when the speaker is comfortable to do so.

I start off by introducing myself and teaching basic day to day phrases as well as grammar and basic uses of pronouns as well other basic methods. I try my best to understand the subjects culture and where they are coming from to adapt my learning to a comfortable style for them.

I then go on to reading and comprehension, I use some slides that I have previously taught with and exemplar texts that have simple and basic phrases and for the advanced user I use paragraphs. I then go through with the reader and correct any mistakes, then I give them an example of how it should be read and repeat with them until they are solid. I then use basic sentence that I have written myself and get them to use similar words to complete that sentence (similar to the ones that they have read in the previous text) to make sure that they have consolidated their learning.

This is just an example, my teaching methods are very straight forward.
