I am an experienced private tutor with over 20 years' experience working with students across a wide range of ages, abilities and academic backgrounds. I provide personalised one-to-one tuition and believe that the most effective lessons are those adapted to the individual student rather than following a one-size-fits-all approach.

My teaching style is patient, supportive and structured. I begin by understanding each student's current level, strengths, areas of difficulty and academic objectives. From there, I tailor lessons to address gaps in knowledge, strengthen understanding and gradually introduce more challenging material as confidence develops.

Lessons are interactive and student-focused. I encourage students to ask questions, explain their reasoning and work through problems themselves rather than simply watching me demonstrate solutions. Where appropriate, I use targeted questions, worked examples, past papers and examination-style problems to reinforce understanding and identify areas that require further attention.

I have experience supporting students across Maths, Further Maths, Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Computer Science, English, History, Politics, Economics, Business Studies and Sociology, including preparation for GCSE, IGCSE, A-Level and other academic examinations.

I work with students of all abilities. Some require help catching up, rebuilding confidence or understanding topics they have found difficult at school, while others are high-achieving students looking to secure the very highest grades. I adapt my approach accordingly.

For examination students, I place particular emphasis on exam technique, effective problem-solving, past-paper practice and understanding what examiners are looking for. I also help students become more independent and confident in approaching unfamiliar questions.

Lessons are available online via Zoom, allowing me to work with students throughout the UK and internationally. I aim to create a relaxed and encouraging learning environment while maintaining clear academic goals and high expectations.

Ultimately, my objective is not simply to help students improve their grades, but to develop stronger understanding, confidence and independent learning skills that will benefit them throughout their education.
