My lessons are designed to be supportive, engaging, and tailored to the individual needs of every student. As a current secondary maths teacher with three years of classroom experience, I have taught KS3 and KS4 students across a wide range of abilities, including those with SEND and students who may lack confidence in maths. I understand that every learner is different, so I adapt my teaching style and pace to suit the student, ensuring they feel comfortable asking questions and making mistakes as part of the learning process.
I use a combination of clear and structured PowerPoint presentations, high-quality worksheets, and exam-style questions to introduce and practise key mathematical concepts. The resources I use are carefully selected from trusted educational websites and are adapted where necessary to meet the needs of the individual student. Lessons typically begin with a short recap of previous learning to reinforce understanding before moving on to new content. Throughout the session, I use worked examples and guided practice to build confidence before encouraging students to tackle questions independently.
My focus is not only on improving grades but also on developing a genuine understanding of mathematical methods and building long-term confidence. I encourage students to explain their reasoning and thought processes, helping them develop the problem-solving and analytical skills needed for success in school and examinations.
Whether a student needs extra support with classwork, targeted intervention to close knowledge gaps, or focused GCSE revision, I provide personalised lessons that are structured around their goals. My aim is to create a positive and encouraging learning environment where students feel motivated, make consistent progress, and achieve their full potential in maths.
