I have two distinct structures for my lessons depending on what the student requests that week. They can either be focused on exam questions with an emphasis on breaking down questions and understanding what the examiner is looking for, or heavily content based (with a few relevant questions included) to improve the students knowledge around the subject. I often aim to use both of these styles week to week if the student is looking for more general assistance, but I have previously worked exclusively on either style with individual students.
I always endeavour to be friendly and approachable in my lessons, and try to maintain a constant conversational tone between me and the student. I know that this helps to make the lessons manageable and enjoyable for the students and myself. However, I do aim to push the students understanding using my own additional knowledge of the material, encouraging them to ask engaged questions and take their understanding beyond the bare minimum of the syllabus. I find that this generally helps students to have a better understanding of the subjects as a whole.
I have a plethora of tutoring experience, having been a tutor for over three years with over 300 lessons logged. I have covered everything from KS3 Maths to A-Level Physics, and I work well across all age groups. I have also tutored students working on their university admissions, looking at interview preparation, personal statement improvement, and working on the further content and questions required for any admissions tests.
