Duha Abdelkarim

My name is Duha Abdelkarim, and I have recently completed my A-Levels in Biology, Chemistry, and Psychology. I have first hand experience with the 11 Plus exam, having completed it myself, and I also helped my younger sister prepare for the same exam, which gave me valuable insight into the challenges students face. I have also taken the UCAT, which helped me improve important skills like verbal reasoning, problem-solving, and managing time skills that are very useful for 11 Plus preparation. Alongside this, I have volunteered for over a year in various educational settings, including classroom support and one-to-one tutoring, where I developed essential qualities such as patience, clear communication, and the ability to adapt lessons to different learning styles and needs. My teaching methods focus on creating personalised, interactive lessons that build students’ confidence, enhance their understanding, and improve key skills. I believe in creating a calm and encouraging environment where students feel comfortable to ask questions, make mistakes, and learn at their own pace. I am organised, reliable, and committed to helping each student reach their full potential through tailored support, regular feedback, and encouragement. This combination of personal experience, volunteering, and a student-centred approach makes me confident in my ability to support 11 Plus students effectively and help them achieve their goals, while also developing a genuine love for learning.
