My experience as an ESL tutor started as early as when I was back in secondary school, helping my classmates with their essays, grammar exercises and speaking after school. That's when I realized teaching is my real vocation and languages are my passion. Obtaining an MA degree in English Language and Literature made me qualified to teach ESL without additional certificates needed and I got my first ESL job abroad while still attending MA studies.
The year I spent teaching abroad was rewarding in every possible way - it helped me grow and affirm myself as an open-minded person as I always claimed to be and it gave me the satisfaction of being remembered as a professional teacher whose students like to keep in touch and brag about every personal and professional achievement they made.
This experience and the subsequent ones helped me realize that when working by one-on-one teaching method, it is highly recommended to get to know your students first in an introductory lesson as a way of screening out their current knowledge level and then work on the lesson plan specifically tailored to their needs - and this is exactly how I do things!
