I am a medical doctor working in London having graduated from Imperial with a Merit in Clinical Sciences. I achieved a First Class in Neurosciences and Mental Health intercalated BSc from Imperial. Currently I'm studying for a Master's in Medical Education at Exeter university and I believe this tells how much I love teaching. I use science-based approaches in my teaching sessions to maximise knowledge acquisition and retention. I have tutored and mentored students for nearly 6 years from A-Levels to undergraduate medical students, with many getting into Oxbridge and Imperial. I offer A-level tutoring in Biology and medical interview preparation.
My sessions are all about active learning, rather giving passive information and presentation, the students must try and work out the solution from the questions I pose to them. This helps retain knowledge better making them confident in the subject. I often use analogies to make difficult topics much simpler and easier and I share my revision tips and resources I used to enable students excel in exams.
I aim to make my lessons a student-centred learning experience rather than simply a class-based teaching they get at school, this enables me to develop a rapport with them, allowing me to help them in the best way I can. I always ask for lesson feedback, so I get to know the areas I need to improve on so they can enjoy the lessons.
