Dominic Hawkins

Hi, i am a student with 10 years of experience of playing the piano. I have a passion for teaching and would love to be able to pass on this skill to other people. My approach to teaching is it should be fun as i think their is no better way to learn. The piano is a beautiful instrument and i guarantee with commitment anyone can reach a capable level. I come from a musical family and my mum has been a piano teacher for 15 years, from her teachings i have to ability to communicate effectively with any type of student and have an easy approach to understanding the instrument. I am fantastic with children and am currently teaching my Niece to play and she has made an exceptional amount of progress and now has a real love for the instrument. I have played in four concerts over my time and i could not be prouder of how they went. For my lessons i will introduce students to the basic sight readings and getting familiar with the keys and notes, once they have progressed and understand the instrument i can either teach them how to tackle exams or just teach them their favourite songs which would still give them the ability to take on exams later down the line if they choose to. I think the most important thing about the piano is having fun and learning your favourite songs which is a skill you will have for life.
