My lessons are friendly, supportive and focused on helping students understand Mathematics rather than simply memorising answers. I like to begin by finding out what the student already knows, what they are finding difficult and what they would like to achieve. This allows me to structure each lesson around their individual needs and make sure we use our time effectively.

I usually start with a clear explanation of the topic, breaking difficult ideas down into smaller, manageable steps. I then work through examples with the student before giving them questions to try themselves. I encourage students to explain their thinking and ask questions throughout the lesson, as I believe this helps build both understanding and confidence.

The content of each lesson can vary depending on the student. For example, we may focus on a specific topic they are struggling with, work through exam-style questions, revise for an upcoming test or build their confidence with the basics. I can also adapt the pace of lessons depending on the student's ability and learning style.

I have experience supporting children and young people through tutoring, teaching and volunteering, including working with students aged 3–15. I am patient, approachable and understand that students learn in different ways. My aim is to create a positive environment where students feel comfortable making mistakes, asking questions and developing their skills.

Ultimately, I want students to leave each lesson feeling more confident and better prepared to tackle Mathematics independently.
