Lessons will be tailored to the students wants and needs. The focus will be on learning content related to the exam board specification which is followed by schools. We will learn the content through explanations and then master it with exam questions which help to prepare students for their real exams. As an A-level student I know how to revise for my GCSEs having achieved very high grades through all my exams. In science I achieved a grade of 9/9 which is the equivalent to 2 A**. This grade can only come from revising in ways that work for the subject. As I have done my exams so recently I know what the process of learning science is like and I know how to help students reach their full potential as I tutored classmates throughout the GCSE period.
We will start with a baseline to see where the student is at and then progress focusing on weaker spots in their learning. We will do regular quizzes to ensure that taught content is understood and so we can go back over any weaker areas. If the student gets homework through school we can also go through that to allow them to fully understand the topic they are covering in school.
I think tutors are a great tool to take advantage of during the GCSE period as you have many subjects you have to juggle around. A bit of extra help on less strong subjects or even to push the student to the highest grades can really be of use.
