Dideoluwa Akingbesote

Hi, I’m Dide! I’m a dedicated Maths and Science tutor currently studying A Levels in Biology, Chemistry and Mathematics at Dartford Grammar School for Girls, where I also serve as Head Student. I achieved six Grade 9s and three Grade 8s at GCSE, and I understand both the challenges and the strategies needed to succeed in today’s exams.

As the founder of Islonde Academy, I’ve had the opportunity to support students with different abilities and learning styles. I believe every student can succeed with the right guidance, encouragement and approach. Rather than simply giving answers, I help students understand the “why” behind each topic so they develop confidence alongside stronger grades.

My lessons are personalised to every student. During our first session, I’ll identify strengths, areas for improvement and learning preferences before creating a structured plan tailored to their goals. Whether your child wants to improve classroom confidence, prepare for GCSE exams or achieve top grades, lessons are adapted to suit their pace.

I use clear explanations, worked examples, exam-style questions, active recall and spaced repetition to make learning engaging and effective. I also provide regular feedback so both students and parents can see progress over time.

Alongside tutoring, I volunteer at King’s College Hospital, where I’ve developed patience, empathy and strong communication skills through supporting patients from a wide range of backgrounds. These experiences have strengthened my ability to connect with students, build trust and create a positive learning environment.

My goal is simple: to help every student become more confident, independent and successful. I want my students to leave each lesson feeling motivated, understanding topics they once found difficult, and believing in their own ability to achieve great results.
