I have over twelve years experience of teaching the English curriculum in the UK and overseas which gives me a deep understanding of teaching to students from different cultures with English as an additional language. I have worked with all levels of ability and differentiate lessons accordingly. My lessons are fun and outcomes are achieved in an interesting and patient manner. I am able to tailor my lessons to the needs of my students, with my experience and deep subject knowledge enabling me to adjust lessons as needed throughout the lesson. I am confident teaching English, including phonics, grammar, spelling and writing. Also maths including the four basic maths operations (addition, subtraction, multiplication and division) geometry, telling the time, graphs, fractions, measures and 1, 2 and 3 step word problems. I have taught science and can support students in how to write up an experiment and understand the parameters of a fair test. I have also taught geography and history and can support students in how to organise their research. I can recognise when a student needs a mind break and have ample ways to facilitate this. I believe that I would be a useful addition to your child's educational journey and would love the opportunity to be part of their success. I believe that early educational skills and experiences are paramount to a child's enjoyment of learning. It is their confidence in their skills and knowledge at primary education level that enable their continued future success in secondary education and beyond.
