I am a Mathematics graduate with a BSc degree, offering personalised 1-to-1 tuition in Maths for KS3 and GCSE students. I also have around 8–10 years of experience teaching Spanish in language schools and hold a CELTA qualification, with experience teaching learners in small-group settings.

My approach to teaching is patient, supportive and highly personalised. I believe that students learn best when they understand why something works, rather than simply memorising formulas or following a set of instructions without understanding them. For this reason, I adapt each lesson to the individual student's level, learning pace, interests and specific areas for improvement.

In Maths, I focus on identifying gaps in understanding and then building confidence step by step. I do not believe in giving students random worksheets simply to keep them busy. Instead, I prefer to select tasks that are relevant to what the student actually needs to practise, while adapting examples and explanations to make difficult concepts easier to understand.

I have previous experience providing one-to-one Maths tuition. One student I worked with was initially aiming for a C grade and ultimately achieved a B, improving by two grades.

For GCSE students, lessons can include strengthening core knowledge, addressing gaps, working through challenging topics, practising exam-style questions and developing exam technique. For KS3 students, I can help establish a strong mathematical foundation and make sure that difficulties are addressed before they become larger gaps.

I also believe that regular practice outside lessons is important. Where appropriate, I provide personalised homework and additional questions based on what we have covered, so that students can consolidate their understanding and see their own progress.

My experience teaching Spanish has also taught me the importance of adapting explanations to different learners. Having taught students in language-school settings for many years, I understand that people learn in different ways and that patience, clear explanations and encouragement can make a significant difference.

My aim is not simply to help a student complete a particular task or pass a test, but to help them understand the subject, become more confident and gradually become more independent in their learning.
