My lessons are engaging, personalised, and designed to help students of all ages and levels grow as musicians. I teach beginners, returning adults, and more advanced players, helping them develop technique, musicianship, improvisation, sight-reading, and confidence at the piano. Each lesson is tailored to the student’s goals, pace, and learning style, so we focus on what matters most to them. Whether a student is aiming to pass ABRSM or Trinity exams, prepare for a recital, or simply enjoy playing for themselves, I structure lessons to ensure steady progress and a sense of achievement.
I use a variety of teaching methods, combining clear explanations, demonstrations, and guided practice with creative exercises that make learning enjoyable. I also encourage students to record their playing so they can listen back, reflect, and track their own development over time. For those who wish to explore improvisation, jazz, or contemporary music, I integrate exercises that develop musical creativity and personal expression.
With over 20 years of teaching and performing experience, I bring patience, adaptability, and a genuine passion for helping students grow. I have taught online and in-person, coached ensembles, performed professionally, and collaborated with other musicians, giving me a wide perspective on musical learning and performance. My lessons are structured but flexible, aiming to challenge students just enough to inspire improvement while keeping the process enjoyable.
I pride myself on creating a supportive, encouraging learning environment. I aim not only to improve students’ technical skills but also to nurture a lifelong love of music. Each lesson is designed to motivate, build confidence, and allow students to explore their own musical voice. By the end of each session, students leave with clear goals, new skills, and a sense of progress that inspires them to continue practising and developing.
Whether you want to develop solid fundamentals, prepare for exams, or dive into improvisation and creative playing, my lessons are designed to help you achieve your musical goals in a positive, inspiring, and structured way.
