Having achieved strong academic results at A-level (A*, A, A) and with experience tutoring GCSE students in subjects such as History, English Literature, and Psychology, I understand both the academic demands and common challenges students face. My approach combines clarity, patience, and consistent encouragement to ensure lessons are productive, focused, and confidence-building.
My teaching style is interactive and student-focused. I encourage active participation, helping students engage with the material and retain information more effectively. I also place strong emphasis on exam technique, including essay structure, critical analysis, and time management - key skills for academic success.
Lessons typically begin by identifying areas of difficulty or reviewing prior material to ensure a strong foundation. I then break down complex topics into clear, manageable explanations, prioritising understanding rather than memorisation. To reinforce learning, I incorporate practice questions, exam-style exercises, and guided discussions that develop analytical thinking and answer structure.
Academically, I have developed strong analytical and critical thinking skills through my studies in History and International Relations, as well as through achieving A*, A, A at A-level. These experiences have strengthened my ability to break down complex concepts into clear, accessible explanations. I believe that effective teaching is not simply about delivering information, but about ensuring genuine understanding and helping students develop independent thinking skills.
In addition to my academic background, my leadership experience as President of the KCL Sudanese Society has further shaped my communication, organisation, and interpersonal skills. This role requires me to engage with diverse groups of people, coordinate initiatives, manage responsibilities, and maintain a professional yet approachable presence. It has strengthened my ability to guide discussions, remain patient under pressure, and support others effectively.
