Declan Corrigan

I’m Declan, a TEFL-certified English teacher with over two years’ experience teaching adults, teenagers, and children in Indonesia, England, and online. I’ve taught students from many different countries and enjoy learning about their cultures and experiences. I have a degree in Sociology and International Relations from the University of Sussex, and I’m well travelled.

Lessons take place on Zoom and are friendly, practical, and tailored to you. We’ll start by talking about your goals, interests, and current level, then use those to choose useful topics and activities. I use a variety of websites, apps, and learning materials to keep lessons engaging and give you plenty of opportunities to practise.

Depending on your goals, we can work on speaking, grammar, vocabulary, reading, writing, and listening. For example, we might discuss an interesting topic, learn useful new expressions, read or listen to a short text, and use it as a springboard for conversation. We can also practise grammar in context, work on pronunciation, or develop your writing step by step. I’ll give you helpful feedback, explain mistakes clearly, and adapt the pace and activities to suit you.

My aim is to create a relaxed space where you feel comfortable asking questions, trying new language, and learning from mistakes. Whether you’re learning English for everyday conversation, travel, work, or study, each lesson will focus on helping you make progress and feel more confident using English.
