Deborah Gatting

I have many years of experience teaching art and design including printmaking and textiles in both an educational environment and as a private tutor. I enjoy the creative process, working to help others to find their strengths and achieve successes through a wide range of media. I have taught English through art lessons to younger learners and worked with older students to improve their portfolios for university applications.

Depending on your requirements I would Follow a GCSE or A level approach working with a broad theme through drawing and painting techniques finding inspiration through visual research, including photography, developing work in sketchbooks to final pieces on canvas or paper. I very much tailor lessons to suit the needs of my students as such we can develop individual strengths and ensure that there is consistent development, energy and motivation in the work that is undertaken.

To work to improve drawing and painting skills I love to start with line, shape, texture and form, developing and exploring a wide range of techniques to develop confidence, expression and, enjoyment!
