David Pon

For over 25 years, I have devoted as much as 16 hours a day toward helping others, as a professor, researcher, teacher, one-on-one/group tutor, medical director, ophthalmologist/eye surgeon, and mentor. Previously, I had finished some 14 years of formal post-secondary education and post-doctoral training at some of the top universities in the world (B.S., Stanford, M.P.H., UC Berkeley, M.D., UCSF, post-doctoral training: Stanford, Harvard, University of Chicago, Wills Eye Institute). During my years at these wonderful institutions, I began researching, teaching, tutoring, and mentoring young students. The quality of my extensive education and quarter century of real-world business, teaching, research, and life experiences, can prove to be of great value to younger generations. This involved real-world medical, teaching, and tutoring experience in biology (general, introductory, cellular, molecular, anatomy, physiology,...), physics, general science, math (99%tile MCAT/SAT) (algebra, geometry, calculus), chemistry (organic and biochemistry), reading and writing, standardized testing, university admissions, and essay writing. My lesson plans are flexible, but It is usually best to follow whatever text or materials the student already has at school as a foundation. Additional supplemental materials would depend on the level of interest and the time available. Sessions online are one on one via Zoom or other online platforms. My experience and methods empower effectively helping students and also rewards me with great personal satisfaction as my students have been accepted to top universities (e.g., Stanford, Univ. of Penn., Caltech, Johns Hopkins, Univ. of Michigan, Univ. of California, Harvey Mudd, and more).
