I use past papers or exam practice questions from schools as a base for developing the student's ideas, formulating a response appropriate to the lesson topic. For conversation lessons, I use a list of questions to bring out the student's opinions, justifications, and conclusions based on the topic.
I've been teaching English for 25 years, for school pupils, college students, refugees and immigrants from many parts of the world. If there are any particular issues that students face, I will happily create lessons to seek a solution to those issues.
Having taught so many students from such a varied background of cultures, nationalities, professional or academic backgrounds, I am sure there are very few problems I haven't faced before.
Aside from teaching, I am also a father to two daughters so I fully understand the personal, emotional, and life issues that so many young people have to deal with! I'm also a writer and have self-published two books of short stories and am currently working on my debut novel, which may (I hope!) lead on to fame and fortune in the future.
