Daria Cernea

Hi, I’m Daria, a Biomedical Science student at the University of Hull with a passion for helping students achieve their academic goals. I offer GCSE and A-Level tutoring in Biology, Chemistry and Applied Science, providing personalised lessons tailored to each student’s learning style and ability.

My lessons are designed to be supportive, engaging and focused on building confidence as well as improving grades. I understand that every student learns differently, so I adapt my teaching methods to suit individual needs. Whether you need help understanding difficult topics, completing homework, revising for exams or improving exam technique, I will provide clear explanations and step-by-step guidance.

Having achieved strong GCSE and A-Level results myself, I understand the pressure students can feel during exam preparation. I aim to create a calm and encouraging environment where students feel comfortable asking questions and learning at their own pace. I use practice questions, active recall, revision strategies and interactive discussions to help students strengthen their understanding and retain knowledge effectively.

Alongside my academic studies, I have experience working with young people through primary school work experience, where I developed patience, communication and leadership skills. I also completed pharmaceutical work experience at Scunthorpe General Hospital, which strengthened my professionalism, organisation and attention to detail.

My goal is not only to help students improve academically, but also to help them become more independent and confident learners.

I am flexible with lesson pacing and always encourage students to ask questions, ensuring lessons remain productive, enjoyable and focused on progress.
