Hi, I’m Darcy! I hold a Master’s in International Development and a Bachelor’s in History and Geography. Hi, I’m Darcy! I hold a Master’s in International Development and a Bachelor’s in History and Geography. While I’m new to formal tutoring, I’ve worked with learners of different ages, from helping run events at a local school to supporting children at a nursery. These experiences taught me the importance of patience, clear communication, and adapting to what each person actually needs.
I aim to work around you, building my lessons around your level, your goals, and what genuinely interests you. A typical session starts with a relaxed warm-up chat to ease in and get comfortable speaking, before moving into a focus topic tailored to your goals, whether that’s everyday English, work, travel, or exam preparation. We’ll include plenty of conversation and practical exercises so the language actually sticks, finishing with gentle feedback on what went well and what to work on next time.
I keep lessons conversational and low-pressure. Mistakes are a natural part of learning, not something to be embarrassed about, and I adapt each session to how you learn best, whether that’s structured grammar work, free-flowing conversation, or a mix of both. I always come prepared with a clear plan and useful material, but stay flexible enough to follow what interests you and adjust if something isn’t working.
I also believe that building confidence is just as important as improving accuracy. Whether you’re preparing for an exam, brushing up your English for work, travelling, or simply wanting to feel more comfortable speaking, I’ll help you make steady progress in a friendly and encouraging environment.
I’d love to help you reach your goals, one lesson at a time
