As a senior teacher with 30+ years of experience, I can say that "Iguess" the way each student may need to be taught and I adapt the learning accordingly.
When I teach adults, I focus on their interests, worries, competences and final purpose for learning a foreign language.
With teenagers I strive to cope on the right "wave" as they are our future and need a good and dynamic instruction, not just homework, reading&listening at all hours. We must wake their curiosity and entangle it with the active learning.
I usually use Teams for my classes and I love teaching on films, sketches, shows which resonate with each of the student´s character and afinities.

I don´t like to use much paperwork, as in the real life we do not always have a notepad and a pen to write down our thoughts or requirements; I rely on visual images, Canva presentations and Power Point slides to catch my students´attention and curiosity.
I also use the reading - novels, poetry, comics when it is the case, to "disecate" the language and make it usable in chunks and in combinations of words and phrases.
Most of us are able to write a novel without knowing. So, why don´t use this ability to "force" my students to use the language? I really believe that with the appropriate motivation, everyone can learn a new language, as long as the tutor is good and showcases the student´s interest in favour of their individual skills.
