Enthusiastic individual confident in building rapport with individuals to create memorable learning experiences with two years’ experience as a translator and tutor. I am a native Spanish speaker who has lived in both Peru and Spain for many years and is now based in the U.K where I have worked in a school supporting secondary school pupils in improving their Spanish. I have done this on a 1:1 basis. I place an emphasis on helping students improve their conversational Spanish by giving them an opportunity to speak to a native speaker. I also can support students with their written Spanish, giving out assignments for them to practice their vocabulary and grammar. I use a multitude of formats to teach my students. I have used videos for students to listen to conversations and music in Spanish. I also devise quizzes for students to improve their skills by testing their ability to recall information in Spanish. Additionally, I have worked as a translator, translating Spanish into English so I am very familiar with the industry of language and have a strong understanding of the English language rules. This means I can explain Spanish very well to a native English speaker. As a native Spanish speaker, I am very familiar with how Spanish is spoken in reality at the everyday level. This can give students an advantage in how they pronounce Spanish as I can teach them all the local colloquialisms.
