I try to make my lessons fun by breaking down the complicated grammar topics into easy-to-handle chunks that are much more manageable.
The first, free lesson is for you to note out what you need from me and for me to tell you how I will help and support you — then we take it from there!
I currently work with 14-18 year olds on a daily basis as a high school German teacher, both girls and boys, and we move from complete beginner to B1 level within an academic year.
The biggest problem area I experience is the issue of German grammar and the articles Der Die and Das, alongside Ein and Eine. Many students panic and think they will never be able to learn when each one is used, but I find a way to break this down and look at patterns within nouns and re-enforce this learning through repetition and making the lessons fun. Grammar doesn't need to be boring!
Confidence can also be a problem area for many students, and is something I personally struggled with for some time before I realised that not everybody is judging every German word that exited my mouth, and that each mistake was actually a learning opportunity!
So let's learn together and get your German either off the ground, up to speed or even better than it already is!
