My lessons are structured, engaging, and adapted to suit each student’s goals and confidence level. I aim to create a relaxed and encouraging atmosphere where students feel comfortable contributing ideas, asking questions, and developing their analytical skills without feeling judged or pressured.
Typically, lessons begin by identifying the areas a student wants to improve most, whether that’s essay structure, analysing quotations, understanding themes and context, improving exam technique, or building overall confidence in English Literature. From there, I tailor sessions to focus on the student’s individual needs and learning style.
I also place a strong emphasis on exam skills, helping students learn how to write high-level responses efficiently and confidently under timed conditions. As someone who achieved a Grade 9 in GCSE English Literature and an A at A-Level, I understand what examiners are looking for and can share practical techniques that helped me succeed.
Because I completed these qualifications relatively recently, I’m able to explain difficult concepts in a relatable and accessible way that students often find easier to connect with. My aim is not only to help students improve academically, but also to make literature more interesting, approachable, and enjoyable.
