I am a qualified maths teacher with a BSc in Mathematics (2:1) and a PGDE with QTS through the Teach First Programme. After several years teaching in London, I now focus on private tutoring, where I can dedicate more time to supporting individual students and tailoring lessons to their specific needs. Over the years I have worked with students from Year 7 to Year 13, covering a wide range of abilities and goals — from helping some secure a solid pass at GCSE to stretching high-achievers towards Grade 8/9 and success at A-level. I make sure to stay up to date with exam board requirements, mark schemes, and current teaching strategies, so that the support I provide is always practical, relevant, and directly linked to what students will face in their exams.

I ensure that lessons are impactful and efficient, with every session designed to deliver clear progress. A big part of this involves improving written mathematical communication, as so many students lose marks through rushed working or small habits that undermine their answers. By focusing on clear, well-structured solutions, I help students not only maximise their marks but also find it much easier to approach tougher, multi-step problems with confidence. I place a strong emphasis on undoing unhelpful habits, building logical methods, and using problem-solving style questions to encourage flexible thinking rather than simple memorisation. My overall aim is to make maths feel less intimidating and to create an environment where students build genuine confidence, strong skills, and leave each session with a real sense of achievement.
