Connor Chapman

My name is Connor, I am English and I'm 29 years old. I have a degree in Psychology and I am TEFL qualified. My lessons aim to be interactive, student focused, memorable and engaging. I will establish the aims of the student and build the lesson around those aims, always trying to encourage a fun learning environment. The lesson structure will depend on the content and the learning objectives but will usually include an introduction to the target language, vocabulary expansion, context appropriate practice and a mixture of written and verbal challenges to encourage variety. I will aim to build upon the students existing level of English and empower them to ask questions and take control of their own learning. I always try and push the students ability to ensure they feel a sense of achievement and progression. I also aim to encourage students by recapping what we have already learned to enhance feelings of development and emphasise progress.

I have spent eight years travelling and working with people from all around the world in several different contexts. I have volunteered for an orphanage in Nepal, teaching young children vocabulary and grammar. I have volunteered for humanitarian causes in several countries and have loved interacting with such a wide variety of people, from around the world. I thoroughly enjoy teaching English, as it is a dynamic, fun and engaging career. It enables me to help people develop their confidence and affords me the chance to interact with people from different cultures.
