My name is Colin. I am currently a second year English Language and TESOL student from Swansea University.
A lot of English learners may find it intimidating and scary to speak English. However, I am here to help students boost their confidence in using English as a second language. I believe guidance and assistance are crucial to non-native English speakers on their journey of improving their English.
The structure of my lesson would mainly depend on what skills of the language you would like to improve on. I can provide lessons on reading, writing, listening, speaking, vocabulary, grammar, pronunciaton and so on. I can offer lessons both online and in-person, depending on the location.
I have extensive experience in English Language teaching and tutoring. I taught English privately to senior secondary school students in Hong Kong for 2 years before coming to the UK. I was mainly helping my students with their HKDSE exam, providing them with some tips for the exam and giving them lots of support and encouragement along their journey of preparing for the exam. After coming to the UK, I have been teaching a class of Korean students in a Korean church as a volunteer.
I passed my Cambridge CELTA teaching degree in December 2022 after taking a 3-month English teaching course with graded teaching practices. During my CELTA, I was teaching 2 classes of adults with different nationalities. It gave me a chance to practice my confidence in teaching.
