About me

I'm predominantly a rhythm guitarist, so that is where my focus lies. My experience lies with rock, pop and folk, so that is what I am best suiyed towards teaching.
I start off with the fundamental open chords, then add barre chords, and/or work on a song chosen by the student, no "Old Brown Jug" or the like, unless that's their preference.
This is all backed up using basic scales and note wheels...

I start off with the fundamental open chords, then add barre chords, and/or work on a song chosen by the student, no "Old Brown Jug" or the like, unless that's their preference.
This is all backed up using basic scales and note wheels to teach the relevance of the notes to each other and the intervals between them, as well as chord charts and/or tablature.
Everything is at the student's pace, there's no mad rush and proper technique takes time. You don't want to pick up bad habits and prolong them, having to take extra time to correct them in the future. It's best to take your time and get it right the first time around.
Probably more suited to a beginner to give them a strong start, than somebody looking to brush up on techniques or further their skills, but it's a case by case basis, there are no absolutes in regarding to a playing level. A player can maybe play classical guitar like a pro but struggle with rock playing. It's all down to the individual.
I'll work with any level of player as long as it's in their interests and in my ability to provide them usable knowledge. If I feel that they are a "above my pay-grade", I'll say as much. I don't want to waste anybody's time or money.
