I hold a First Class Master’s degree in Engineering from Imperial College London and achieved A* grades in Maths, Physics, and Chemistry at both GCSE and A-level. During my time at university, I worked as an Undergraduate Teaching Assistant, supporting first-year students by breaking down complex concepts, guiding them through problem-solving, and helping them build confidence in their understanding. I also worked as a French Teaching Assistant during my A-levels, teaching students across a wide age range, including young learners as young as four.
Alongside this, being the older sibling in my family has given me plenty of hands-on tutoring experience, particularly during my younger siblings’ GCSE years. This has helped me learn how to adapt explanations, stay patient, and keep learning engaging and approachable.
In my lessons, I focus on building a strong understanding of the fundamentals before gradually introducing more challenging concepts. When teaching, I ensure my student is confident with the foundations before gradually building up to more challenging concepts. I place a strong emphasis on visual learning, often drawing out problems and encouraging students to think through each step interactively. For virtual lessons, this would be through online whiteboards and shared screens. I also make use of analogies and simple memory techniques such as acronyms where helpful, and regularly check understanding through guided questions and exam-style practice. I aim to make sessions clear, supportive, and tailored to each student’s needs, helping them reach their full potential!
Students can expect a friendly, patient, and dependable tutor who explains concepts clearly, adapts to individual learning styles, and is genuinely invested in their progress.
