My lessons are friendly, supportive and tailored to each student’s individual needs, ability and learning style. I believe that students make the best progress when they feel comfortable, understood and confident, so I create a calm learning environment where questions are encouraged and mistakes are simply part of the learning process.
With over 15 years of tutoring experience, I have supported learners across KS2, KS3, GCSE and beyond, including students with SEND, ADHD, autism, dyslexia, dyscalculia, anxiety and other barriers to learning. I teach a range of subjects, including English, Maths, and Business Studies, and adapt my approach depending on the learner’s goals.
Lessons are structured but flexible. We usually begin by reviewing previous learning before introducing new concepts through clear explanations, worked examples, visual resources and guided practice. Students then have opportunities to work independently so that I can identify gaps and build their confidence. For exam students, lessons can include exam-style questions, past papers, revision strategies, exam technique and targeted work on weaker areas.
My aim is not simply to help students complete a piece of work, but to help them understand what they are learning and become increasingly independent. I focus on developing three key qualities in every learner: Curiosity, Consistency and Confidence.
