Claire Faulkner

Bonjour! I’m an experienced French educator with over 20 years of teaching experience in UK secondary schools. After studying computational linguistics and French at the University of Manchester—which included a fantastic placement at the École Normale Supérieure in Paris—I spent several years living and working in French-speaking Belgium before returning to the UK to train as a teacher.

My dual background in corporate IT and secondary education gives me a unique perspective on language learning: I understand how to break down complex grammatical structures logically, but I also know how real-world French is spoken day-to-day.

My Teaching Philosophy
Language learning should feel empowering, not intimidating. Whether you are aiming for a top grade in your exams or starting from scratch as an adult learner, my priority is to create a relaxed, low-pressure environment where you feel comfortable making mistakes and speaking spontaneously.
