My lessons settle the child with a familiar book or word game.
I then get the child to read a less familiar book focusing on the child’s reading independence and how the child reads (skills assessment through a running record). I then follow up the reading with new learning through word games and magnetic letter / phonics work. The final section of the lesson focuses on sentence structure and confidence in writing. We then read a new book together ready for the next lesson. The aim is to build happiness and confidence with a child centred approach. I aim for every child to come to the next lesson full of confidence and energy.
