My teaching approach is friendly, fun, patient and encouraging. I believe that children learn best when they feel comfortable, supported and confident in their abilities. My aim is to create a positive and enjoyable learning environment where students feel happy to ask questions, make mistakes and learn at their own pace. I understand that every child is different, so I adapt my teaching style to suit their individual abilities, needs and learning preferences.
When teaching maths, I break down difficult topics into smaller, easier steps to help children understand concepts clearly. I use simple explanations, relatable examples, interactive activities and practice questions to make lessons engaging and enjoyable. I also encourage children to think independently, develop their problem-solving skills and have a go at questions themselves before offering guidance where needed.
I believe building confidence is just as important as improving academic performance. I always aim to be approachable, supportive and positive, celebrating achievements and encouraging children to keep trying when they find something challenging. I want students to feel proud of their progress and recognise their own potential.
Having graduated from sixth form, I understand the importance of education and the value of having a supportive person to guide you through learning. My goal is to make maths less intimidating and more enjoyable for children aged 5–14, helping them strengthen their knowledge, improve their skills and develop confidence that they can carry into the classroom and beyond.
