My career-development lessons give young people a structured, supportive space to understand themselves, build confidence, and develop the practical skills they need for the world of work. Each session begins with a short check-in to help students reflect on what’s going well and where they feel stuck. This grounding moment builds trust and helps them feel seen before we move into skill-building.

Every lesson focuses on one clear theme linked to early career success—such as communication, organisation, confidence, CV writing, interview preparation, or understanding workplace expectations. I break each skill down into simple, relatable steps using real examples from school, university, part-time jobs, and everyday life. Students learn through short activities, guided reflection, and practical exercises that make the session feel active and relevant rather than theoretical.

A key part of the experience is helping students practise what they learn. This might include role-playing interview questions, drafting a CV bullet point, planning a study week, or rehearsing how to ask for help professionally. These small, achievable tasks build confidence and independence over time.

Each session ends with a personalised action step so students leave knowing exactly what to focus on next. The overall experience is calm, motivating, and genuinely useful, designed to help young people feel capable, organised, and ready for the next stage of their education or career.

I teach with a calm, empathetic approach that helps students feel understood, supported, and safe to be honest about their challenges. I listen carefully, meet them where they are, and guide them with patience, encouragement, and genuine respect for their individual journey.
