My lessons are one-to-one and designed to be supportive, structured, and engaging, with a strong focus on building confidence as well as academic skill. I tailor each session to the student’s level, goals, and learning style, whether they are studying GCSE, A-level, IB, or early undergraduate Law or History.
For Legal tutoring, lessons will typically focus on breaking down complex legal concepts into clear, manageable ideas. I will guide students through core legal principles, case analysis, and essay structure, with particular attention to legal reasoning, critical thinking, and exam technique. Sessions often include worked examples, discussion-based learning, and practice questions, followed by clear feedback and guidance on how to improve.
For History tutoring, I draw on my strong academic background in the subject. I completed the International Baccalaureate in Singapore, achieving a grade 6 in Higher Level History, which required advanced source analysis, evaluation of historiography, and extended essay writing. My History lessons focus on understanding context, developing strong arguments, analysing sources critically, and improving written responses. I help students plan essays, structure arguments effectively, and gain confidence in timed assessments.
Across both subjects, I encourage active participation through questioning and discussion, creating a comfortable environment where students feel confident asking questions. My goal is not only to help students improve their grades, but also to develop independent thinking skills that will support them beyond their exams.
Above all, I aim to create a positive and encouraging learning environment where students feel supported and motivated. I believe confidence is key to academic success, and I work closely with students to help them recognise their strengths and make consistent progress.
