Hi, I’m Chisimdi Igbogbahaka, a friendly, patient and enthusiastic Maths tutor who loves helping students go from “I don’t understand this” to “Oh, I get it now!” ??
I recently completed my A-levels, including Maths, after achieving strong results in GCSE Maths. I also have previous tutoring experience teaching Maths and English to students in Years 2–6, so I understand the importance of adapting explanations to different ages, abilities and learning styles.
My approach is simple: understand first, memorise second. I break challenging topics into smaller, manageable steps and use clear explanations, worked examples, practice questions and real-life examples to help students understand what they are doing and why. I also encourage students to think through problems themselves, helping them develop the confidence and problem-solving skills to tackle unfamiliar questions independently.
I mainly tutor SATs and students in Years 7–9, supporting students with their understanding of Maths, homework, difficult topics and exam preparation. Whether your child needs help strengthening the basics, catching up on a topic they’ve found difficult, staying on top of their schoolwork or simply becoming more confident in Maths, I’m happy to adapt sessions around their individual needs.
I know that every student learns differently, so I take the time to understand what works best for each person. My sessions are friendly, relaxed and encouraging, creating an environment where students feel comfortable asking questions, making mistakes and trying again without feeling judged.
Most importantly, I want students to realise that struggling with a topic does not mean they are “bad at Maths”. With the right explanation, consistent practice and encouragement, progress is possible. Seeing a student become more confident, motivated and independent is one of my favourite parts of tutoring.
If you’re looking for a reliable, approachable tutor who genuinely cares about your child’s understanding and confidence, I’d love to support them on their Maths journey! ??
